Congratulations!

Congratulations!

We are pleased to announce that two of our 8th grade students, Mary Grace and Alexander, are the recipients of the Catholic Community Foundation's Christian Service Award. The Catholic Community Foundation annually awards an $8,000 scholarship ($2,000 per year) toward a Catholic high school tuition to students demonstrating Catholic values and a Christ-centered love for others through service to parish, school and community. This is the 12th year that the Catholic Community Foundation has provided these scholarships, and the 6th time that a Christ the King student has received this honor.

A total of 114 students applied for the award, and 23 students from Catholic schools across the valley received this scholarship. Applicants were required to submit an application, service records of volunteer time, an essay, and three reference letters. All students who completed applications were then interviewed by the Awards Committee.

The Catholic Community Foundation is a huge supporter of Catholic education. In addition to the annual scholarship opportunity and an annual grant opportunity to Catholic schools, they also administer four endowments for our school, shrine and parish that will help ensure the future of our community for many years to come. For information on how to contribute to one of our endowments, or more information on the Christian Service Award, please contact Mendy at

Volleyball Champs!!

The Christ the King Cougar 8th grade girls volleyball team wins the Diocesan Tournament Championship! The Cougars finished their regular Season with 10 wins and 1 loss. The Cougars were in the small school bracket of the Tournament consisting of 16 teams. The 8th grade team had 14 players and won every match in the tournament. They beat St. Jerome in the Quarter Finals and St. Thomas Aquinas in the semi-finals.

St. Jerome then won in the loser's bracket and played Christ the King in the championship and we defeated them again to take 1st Place. The girls played 5 tough matches to win the tournament. Especially the last 3 matches- the quarter finals, semi's and the championship game. In these 3 matches the 8th grade cougars lost their first game and then had to come Back and win the last 2 games! We did it!
