Dear Christ the King Families,

Think of these words of Christ Our Lord spoken to His Father and about His disciples: “As you have sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world….” (Jn. 17:18). Listen also to His command to those same disciples, “Go into the whole world and proclaim the good news to all creation.” (Mk. 16:15). “Go therefore, and make disciples of all nations…teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.” (Mt. 28:19-20).

What a better way to carry out these Gospel values than to teach God’s word through Catholic education. It is in schools that the young come to know the world in which they are to live. When that human knowledge is illuminated by the light of the Gospel and accompanied by the Church’s teachings expressed in an organic and systematic way, the teaching of Christ’s Gospel takes hold of the mind and heart of the young in a way unsurpassed by any other.

Catholic education prepares us for heaven. But we all know that the road to heaven leads through this life. Our Lord Jesus Christ taught us that we are to love God and to love our neighbor. In striving to accomplish this, our students become better and stronger individuals. At the same time they become better and stronger citizens of their community and of their church. They know that they are helped by prayer and do pray publicly everyday. They know that God’s assisting grace is given to them in the sacraments which their schools prepare them to receive. They know that they will be happiest when they live out the value system of our Lord Jesus Christ: a system which emphasizes truth, goodness, justice, love, peace and forgiveness.

Our school shines academically and spiritually. Inspired by the spirit of Christ, our school seeks to ennoble and enrich the human person, so that each can develop and fulfill one’s potential.

Choosing a school for your child is a difficult decision and requires sacrifices. Huge sacrifices are made by Catholic families of this parish and school in order that Catholic education might flourish. Among these are the exemplary sacrifices made by devoted teachers in our schools. Their dedicated efforts are strongly supported by clergy and laity alike. Additionally, parents are highly involved in many areas of their child’s experience at Christ the King and share the duty as prime educators of their children.

I am pleased you have made the decision to consider becoming a part of this Christ-filled community, where your child can develop and sustain a rich tradition grounded in Gospel and family values, discipline, and respect.

I look forward to personally meeting you and your child. May God, the Author of all truth, bless you always.

In all things may Christ be glorified,

Fr. Steve Kunkel

Dear Parents,

Welcome to Christ the King Catholic School, where we open minds and touch hearts. For over forty-five years, our parish has continued the tradition of providing Catholic education to Mesa and its neighboring communities. We bring to interested families a faith-based education strong in all facets of human development. We are proud of our past and are excited for the future. From basic math facts to phonics instruction, our school addresses the needs of the child.

Our school proudly carries on the tradition of faith-filled education. Because our children are our hope and our joy and the future of the church and society, we join with parents in placing the child at the center of the educational process, which promotes academic excellence and moral values, and fosters lifelong service. Through tremendous support from parents, faculty, staff, and the parish at large, we continue quality programs and services for our students.

Welcome to our faith community. Take a look at our school and see what everyone is talking about. I look forward to discussing with you how Christ the King Catholic School can meet your family’s educational and spiritual needs.

Regards,
